Courmayeur ski resort Travel and transfer information

By car
The Valle d'Aosta is easy to get to and you can travel around the area comfortably by car, motorcycle and camper, thanks to its extensive road network. A significant number of the tourists who visit the region come from the surrounding areas.

Turin connects directly with the A5 motorway and is only 55 km from Pont-Saint-Martin, the "Eastern" gate to the Valle and the first town you come to as you enter Valle d'Aosta; 98 km from the regional capital, Aosta (Aosta Est exit) and 136 from Courmayeur.

Coming from Milan (164 Km), you take the A4 motorway and then at the Santhià motorway junction, you take the section towards Aosta.
The journey takes no time at all for those coming from Genoa (226 km). The motorway network in Valle d'Aosta is in good condition and has an average amount of traffic although it is busier at the weekend.
The internal road network is also well developed and the main roads along the side valleys are useable all year round, except for some mountain passes (the Piccolo and Gran San Bernardo - are generally accessible only between May and October ). You can also approach the Valle from the French and Swiss sides through the Monte Bianco and Gran San Bernardo Tunnels, taking the main SS 26 and 27 roads, respectively.

The Mont Blanc Valley is reachable by the national road 26 and the highway A5 Torino-Aosta-Courmayeur. For the driveway from France, Switzerland and North Europe, we recommend the Mont Blanc Tunnel and the Gran San Bernardo Tunnel. During the summertime the Gran San Bernardo pass and the Piccolo San Bernardo pass are also open.

Located below Mont Blanc on the Italian side of the mountain in the Aosta Valley, the atmospheric resort of Courmayeur is full of character with grand old buildings, narrow cobbled streets and plenty of traditional Italian village charm.

The scenery is also spectacular with views towards the Mont Blanc, and is surrounded by fourteen 13,123ft (4,000m) mountain peaks at the junction of Italy, France and Switzerland. The village was once known as a spa town and base for climbing, but became recognised as a ski resort with the opening of the Mont Blanc Tunnel to provide easy access from Chamonix and Geneva International Airport.
