In Western Trentino, at the utmost North of Val Rendena and connected to the nearby Val di Sole, surrounded by the peaks of the Brenta Dolomites and of the Presanella range, Madonna di Campiglio is a little mountain sports capital for all seasons. A shuttle service called "From slope to slope" links the resort to the Verona, Bergamo and Milan airports throughout the winter.

The winter resort of Madonna di Campiglio boasts a lot of sports facilities, several fitness centres scattered in most of the resort’s 45 hotels and 13 bed and breakfast establishments, totalling 5.149 accommodations, completed by 15 apartment hotels.
The Passo Grostè area houses one of the largest and best equipped "snow parks" in the Alps, the “Ursus” Snow Park. Campo Carlo Magno boasts a Cross-country ski centre offering 21 km trails. There are 10 ski schools, including one school specialised in cross country ski. Among the other leisure activities in the resort one can choose ice skating on the iced pond, ski mountaineering up the Brenta and Presanella slopes following Alpine guides, or snowshoeing outings and sleddog.

A network of 19 modern lift facilities branches out from the little town, located at 1,550 metres a.s.l. (32 thousand people/hour) rapidly taking to the foot of the Brenta Dolomites and of the Adamello-Presanella range. The ski carousel includes 55 km slopes, 85 percent of which are equipped with artificial snow-making facilities. Down the slopes distributed amongst the four poles of the ski area, Cinque Laghi, Pradalago, Spinale and Grostè, one can ski directly down to the ski resort and take lifts up again. The slopes are directly linked with the Folgarida-Marilleva network, totalling 120 km available slopes overall. Night skiing down the Canalone Miramonti slope.
