The Kronplatz Holiday Region lies between the Dolomites and the main ridge of the Alps
and consists of 14 resorts, which are all located in the Pustertal valley. Bruneck/Percha,
San Vigilio di Marebbe, Olang, St. Lorenzen, Gsieser Tal/Welsberg/Taisten, Pfalzen,
Rasen im Antholzertal, Kiens, Terenten, Antholzertal, Gais/Uttenheim and San Martino in
Badia.
In all 14 resorts there is a wide range of accommodation with a total of almost 25,000
bed spaces. Our guests can choose from four-star hotels, cosy inns, family-run pensions,
apartment hotels, bed and breakfasts, holiday flats and farmhouse accommodations.
Over recent years, the comfort and amenities offered have been continuously improved
to meet the highest standards. More and more establishments are offering spa facilities
with saunas and fitness rooms as well as a wide variety of spa and beauty treatments.
We have accommodations to suit every taste and budget.
The Kronplatz Holiday Region offers great culinary diversity, too. Our gastronomy is sure
to satisfy even the most discerning gourmet. Thanks to the interesting mix of hearty
South Tyrolean specialities, sweet treats of Viennese and Bohemian origin and excellent
Mediterranean dishes, the local cuisine offers something for everyone.
The Kronplatz Holiday Region is a vacation area - which holds to tradition and is open for
new ideas - thanks to modern tourism structures it has attractive and quite competitive
offers, either in the summer than in the winter season.
The Kronplatz ski resort offers skiing at its best. 25 gondola and chair lifts help avoid
queues and make skiing a truly satisfying experience. In addition, there are 6 drag lifts in
the surrounding resorts, which are very popular with first-time skiers or guests who want
to get away from the crowds.
With its diversity of pistes Kronplatz offers something for everyone. It provides an
impressive 105 km of ski runs, and state-of-the-art grooming and snowmaking ensure
that snow-sure skiing is guaranteed all through the winter. With its great number of
undemanding red and blue runs Kronplatz is an excellent choice for families. However,
there is also plenty of serious terrain for expert skiers. There are as many as six ski runs
down to the valley, three of which are black pistes. First, there is the traditional and wellknown
Silvester, a 5-kilometre slope which leads from the peak down to Reischach, then
there is the Herrnegg run on the north side of Kronplatz, which leads down to Reischach,
too. And finally there is the “Erta” ski run on Piz da Plaies. “Erta” means steep in Ladin,
and the piste which leads right down to the village centre of San Vigilio di Marebbe is as
steep as the name suggests.
The lifts in our ski area are permanently upgraded to offer skiers and boarders an
unforgettable skiing experience.
With good reason! Kronplatz is regarded as the most modern ski resort in South Tyrol.
But what would a ski resort be without ski schools! In the Kronplatz Holiday Region there
are 5 Alpine ski schools and 3 cross-country ski schools. They offer a wide range of skiing
and boarding programs to suit all needs and skill levels. Learn-to-ski programs, modern
carving techniques or ski lessons for children – our ski schools have it all.
Kronplatz is also a very family-friendly ski area. Children are especially welcome and
treated with loving care. The ski kindergartens, the special children’s ski lessons and the
“Croni”, our children’s restaurant, for instance, have made a name for themselves.
However, the Kronplatz Holiday Region is not only a top location for Alpine and Nordic
skiers.
It offers plenthy of sports and leisure activities for everyone. The diversions offered
include tobogganing, snowshoeing, winter walking in spectacular countryside, swimming,
tennis, horse riding, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice-skating, curling and much more
besides. For thrill-seekers there is paragliding and hang-gliding, too.
In the Kronplatz Holiday Region there is always something going on. This winter its
calendar is packed with interesting events and features a wide range of cultural and
folkloric highlights as well as major international sporting events.

So what’s new this winter?
The most important news is still: the connection from
Kronplatz to the Sellaronda.
In winter 2006/07 the Kronplatz mountain reached closer to the centre of the Dolomites
thanks to the connection to the Sellaronda! This was made possible with the construction
of the new cableway and the black ski-run “Piculin”. Walk-in buses run from Pikolein to
Alta Badia every 20 minutes to complete the connection.
Further there are 2 new snowparks and a new slope down to Pikolein. The new slope is a
red one and comes down next to the already existing black slope.
However, the Kronplatz region is not only a paradise for Alpine skiers but also a dream
destination for cross-country skiers. With more than 200 km of perfectly groomed crosscountry
ski trails, the Kronplatz Holiday Region offers something for all levels of crosscountry
skiers.
Antholzertal valley and Gsieser Tal valley are the two cross-country skiing meccas in our
holiday region. Antholzertal valley is famous for its international biathlon competitions
and is well-known among winter sports enthusiasts in Europe and beyond. In Gsieser Tal
valley there is a more than 40-km long cross-country ski trail, where one of Italy’s
biggest citizens races participant-wise takes place every year.
