Kronplatz slopes: name change

Kronplatz - Pland de Corones

With the 2012/13 winter season coming up, some ski runs on the eastern side of Mount Kronplatz are to receive a brand-new name: slope no. 21 will now be called Gassl, while slope no. 23 will from now on be known as World Record Piste, owing to a spectacular world record achieved in 2011 when a team of 16 athletes skied a distance of 1.67 million metres of difference in altitude in 24 hours. The slope is 1650 m long, with 506 m of difference in altitude (top: 1680 m; bottom: 1174 m).

Ried, the slope that takes you all the way to the train platform in Perca-Percha, will soon be extended to include a new section. Named after its location, Freiselberg, the additional track will be 680 m long and 15 m wide on average. With an average gradient of 16,7%, it will be categorised as blue, making it an easy run ideal for families and a great alternative to the steeper rest of the Ried slope. Roll on the winter season!

In the heart of the Dolomites, once submerged by the primordial sea, a new well-being temple rises, in which water is the absolute protagonist, thanks to the project  promoted by SITC (Società Incremento Turistico Canazei) and designed by architect Ralf Dejaco from Bressanone.
