Paganella will be the official European base for U.S. men’s alpine ski team training over the next three winters. The agreement was signed in the last few days by theTourist Board Dolomiti di BrentaPaganella, Trentino Spa and the US Ski Federation. When they are not busy with World Cup competitions or international events Bode Miller, Ted Ligety, Eric Schlopy, Byron Friedman, Scott Macartney, Steve Nyman, Dane Spencer and Tom Rothrock, will refine their techniques on two ski runs of Andalo and Fai della Paganella, the Olimpionica slope and, as an alternative, the Nuvola Rossa slope. A time slot will be reserved for them from around 8 to 10.30 in the morning. Depending on their needs they will be able to train for the slalom, giant slalom and even the super giant slalom discipline.

At a U.S. Ski Team press conference Friday, October, 24th 2008 with Trentino-Paganella, the Italian training base for American men, World Cup giant slalom champion Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) said he was ready to challenge for a second title.
“The training there is awesome,” Ligety said of Paganella. “A super hard-packed injected steam hill is always great coming into the World Cups. The town is great too, they have great pizzerias and it’s always been comfortable, it’s a little home away from home.”
